Tinnitus Devices

There are many types of tinnitus device.

  • Some are simple noise generators that provide an alternative focus from your tinnitus.
  • Others are designed to create relaxing sounds as well as distract you from your tinnitus.
  • If you have a hearing loss, then one of the most effective treatments is to wear correctly adjusted and appropriately prescribed hearing aids.
  • Combination Devices combine a hearing aid with a noise generator that either creates a soothing sound like the sea, or in the case of some devices, creates randomly generated chimes. Many patients swear by them and have found great relief from their tinnitus symptoms. Examples of good combination devices are the Phonak Audeo Q90, the Unitron Moxi Kiss, the Starkey Xino Tinnitus and the Widex Dream.
  • At the pinnacle of tinnitus devices, perhaps, are tinnitus suppressors. One such device with very good results is the Soundcure Serenade.

Do you or someone you know suffer from constant “ringing in the ears?”

Maybe it’s not ringing exactly. Some people describe it as hissing, buzzing, whistling, roaring and even chirping. Whatever noise it is, the real issue is something called tinnitus.

Tinnitus is the medical term for the sensation of hearing sound in your ears or head when no8 external sound is present.

It’s also important to know that everyone’s tinnitus is different, which is why finding relief has been so elusive — until now!

Some Tinnitus Facts

  • Some 50 million American adults suffer from tinnitus (1 in 5)
  • Tinnitus is the #1 disability for military veterans
  • Tinnitus can occur at any age, and may begin suddenly or progress gradually
  • The most common causes of tinnitus are:
    • Noise exposure (e.g., from shooting or machines at work)
    • Aging
    • Head injury

Unitron Moxi Kiss From £895

Written by Site Manager. Posted in Tinnitus Devices

Unitron Moxi Kiss - possibly the most beautiful tinnitus treatment device in the world.

Could this be the most beautiful hearing aid with tinnitus function in the world?

I was privileged to be invited to the launch of Unitron's new Moxi KissMoxi Kiss tinnitus treatment combination device at the Raddison Blu Edwardian hotel in London.

Before I talk about the stunning visual aesthetics, I ought to first point out that the conventional healthcare side of me is usually only concerned with the efficacy of any treatment or device, and this one certainly ticks all the boxes:

The Siemens Micon combination tinnitus device is available at The London Tinnitus Treatment Clinic on Harley Street

*New* Siemens Micon from £1095 Including Aftercare

We have been getting some fantastic results with the new Siemens Micon range of tinnitus combination devices. If you would like to come to Harley Street and have some fitted, please contact us on 0207 467 8473. If you're not sure yet, then read on...

Technology keeps moving forward

The leap forward Siemens have made reminds me of when they first introduced their e2e (ear to ear) wireless technology back around 2005 and their SoundSmoothing technology not long afterwards. Although e2e initially only synchronised volume control and program changes as well as noise reduction levels between left and right instruments, these technologies were revolutionary at the time, and I remember thinking to myself that there couldn't possibly be a better hearing aid ever. Of course now most manufacturers have some form of wireless communication between the left and right hearing aids and/or mobile phones and televisions, and some form of reducing sudden rattling or clattering noises in their products.

Enhanced channels and bandwidth

But now, Siemens have once again made a giant leap forward by including up to 48 channels and extended bandwidth up to 12kHz in their recently released high end model, the Micon 7mi, as well as an advanced feedback cancellation system that can cope with all those extra high frequencies. Up until now, the greatest number of channels in a rival manufacturer's product was 20, this model having a usable bandwidth of around 8 to 9kHz.
